Gas certification is a legal requirement for landlords and property owners to ensure that their gas appliances and installations are safe and in good working order. At the end of the inspection you will be provided with a Gas Safety Certificate that confirms all of your equipment is working correctly.
If there’s anything you’re particularly concerned about, let our engineers know and they’ll be happy to check everything over for you.
If you are a landlord, you are legally required to have an annual gas safety check carried out on all gas appliances and installations in your property. Without this you’re in breach of the law and could face consequences as a result. While for property owners you aren’t legally required to have a gas safety check carried out, we strongly recommend that you do schedule one to check the safety and efficiency of your gas appliances and installations. This is especially important if you’re just moving into a new property and there isn’t any documentation suggesting the appliances have been inspected before.
A gas safety check involves inspecting and testing all gas appliances and installations, including boilers, gas fires, and gas cookers. Our engineers will also inspect the property for any gas leaks, and test the ventilation system. If you have any questions about what exactly is involved our team will be happy to give you more information.
The length of time it takes to carry out a gas safety check can vary depending on the number and type of gas appliances and installations in the property. Typically a gas safety check can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete but your engineer will be able to give you more information when you schedule your appointment.
